Guiding Principles
The early years of a child's life are crucial for cognitive, social and emotional development. Therefore, it is important that we take every step necessary to ensure that children grow up in environments where their social, emotional and educational needs are met.
I provide a safe and nurturing environment to all children in my licensed home day care. My philosophy is to care for children whilst introducing activities that generate positive responses. Children in my program learn through play and meaningful activities whilst interacting with other children in small groups.
There is an emphasis on creativity and exploration through visual and tactile means. Daily activities include painting, print making, drawing, play dough, gluing and sticking. I choose age appropriate activities with similar themes to suit the age of each child.
Throughout the year we learn about the seasons, color, animals and all the fascinating discoveries that come with them. Spring - flowers, insects, birds, rainbows Summer – the beach, shells, vacations, ice creams Fall – leaves, pumpkins, apple picking and the rich colors of orange and reds Winter - snowmen, ice, hats and scarf’s
